Events - Keeping your visitors up to date with whats on

An events calendar is an ideal way of keeping people up to date with the latest happenings with you or your group.

Configuring your new website events calendar

In general there is little configuration that needs done, however there are many configuration options to choose from to get the events calendar to work exactly the way we want it to. Start with the defaults and tweak it if you need to.

Adding Events Is Easy

The easiest way to add events is through the front end of your website.

You will need to be logged in to the front end of your website in order to add events. Once logged in simply click the menu link to the events component and select the 'Add an event'.

Start by adding a descriptive title for the event subject and if you have setup categories in the back end then choose the relevant category. Access level by default is set to public for all visitors to see, however if you only want your registered users to see the event then choose 'Registered'. Next add in some descriptive information for the event activity - this is the main information people will see for the event. Location is self explanatory and where the event will take place if it has a location, contact is the name or email address of the person who should be contacted for more information should anyone require it.

Under the calendar tab you would select the date the event will take place using the calendar icon to quickly pick a date along with selecting the start time and end times or if the event is more than one day you would select the start date and end date along with start and end times. There is also an option for all day event should the event take place all day. If the event is to be repeated then you would select the relevant option for the recurring event/s from the available options displayed.

Thats it. Once you click 'Save' your event will be added immediately to the calendar and will be live on your website.

Map of Event Locations

You can display a map of locations beneath the list of locations and can also do the same for your main events calendar or list view.

You can specify that some events can only be viewed by themselves and no one else.

Event Registration, Invites and Reminders

Do you need to know who is going to attend your event?  Do you want to invite certain users and make the event invitation and attendance list private to these invitees?  To you want to enable your users to request event reminder emails?

With this event calendar, you can do all of this.

Simple Event Registration

Do you need to know who is going to attend your event.  You can allow logged in users to record their intention to attend the event.

Twitter/Facebook Updates
